COURTROOM UPDATE - 6/24/08: Jury to continue deliberating tomorrow

posted at 4:44 p.m.: The jury has been sent home for the day.

Jurors will continue their deliberation at about 9 a.m. tomorrow.

The jury started its deliberation around 9:13 a.m. And finished shortly after 4 p.m. today.

posted at 3:55 p.m.: The jury deliberating in the Neil Entwistle double murder trial this afternoon asked to see hard copies of computer Internet records from Jan. 20, 2006.

The records had been entered into evidence, but not the printed version.

Neither the prosecutors nor the defense argued against giving the jury the records.

Also, Judge Diane Kottmyer said she will have a court officer ask the jury at 4 p.m. how long it wants to continue deliberations today.

posted at 10:05 a.m.: The wait has now started as the jury of six men and six women have begun its deliberations in the Neil Entwistle double murder trial.

Entwistle, 29, is accused of murdering his wife Rachel, 27, and daughter Lillian Rose, 9 months, on Jan. 20, 2006, in the 6 Cubs Path, Hopkinton home the Entwistles rented.

Prosecutor Michael Fabbri alleged Entwistle drove to Carver that morning and stole his father-in-law Joe Matterazzo's gun.

Entwistle then drove back to Hopkinton and shot his wife and daughter and then returned the gun to Carver, Fabbri said.

Entwistle then fled to England until his February, 2006, arrest.

Entwistle killed his wife to hide his financial debt and dissatisfaction with his sex life, the prosecutor said.

Defense lawyer Elliot Weinstein has claimed that Rachel Entwistle killed herself and her daughter in a murder-suicide.

Weinstein said Entwistle found the gun and returned it to Carver to protect his wife's memory.
