BOSTON — Elliot Weinstein, the defense attorney who represented Neil Entwistle in the murder of his wife and baby, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Stephanie Page, an attorney who worked with Weinstein on the Entwistle case, said Weinstein is scheduled to undergo surgery today.

Weinstein has represented several high-profile clients in Massachusetts, including Entwistle, a British man who was convicted in June of killing his wife and 9-month-old daughter in their Hopkinton home.

He also represented Francesco Angiulo, the reputed accountant for the Boston Mafia who was convicted of racketeering in the 1980s.
