WOBURN - The judge in the murder trial of a British man accussed of murdering his wife and daughter more than two years ago today ruled they won't be visiting the home where the murders occurred.
Judge Diane Kottmyer said she did not see a compelling reason to visit 6 Cubs Path in Hopkinton.
Neil entwistle's lawyer, Elliot Weinstein, argued the visits are necessary.
"There is no way to understand and appreciate what space is there without actually going there," Weinstein said.
Kottmyer also ruled the jury will not visit Rachel's parents' Carver home. Prosecutors say Entwistle stole the gun he allegedly used to murder his wife and daughter from that house.
Kottmyer again said she did not see a compelling reason for the visit.
Weinstein again disagreed.
"A man is facing life in prison ... That's my compelling reason," he said.
Kottmyer did say the issue could be revisted during the trial if it appears the visits are necessary.
Also today, 70 potential jurors are filling out questionnaires and will be questioned individually by the judge in hopes of seating a jury of 16.
