Leone condemns Entwistle for 'his unspeakable and unforgiveable acts'
Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said Neil Entwistle deserved to spend the rest of his life in jail for "cowardly, shameful, unforgiveable acts" during a press conference this afternoon at Middlesex Superior Court following Entwistle's first degree murder conviction in the shooting deaths of his wife Rachel and 9-month-old daughter Lillian Rose.
"A just verdict has been returned and Neil Entwistle will spend the rest of his life in jail which is where he belongs," Leone said.
Joseph Flaherty, spokesman for Rachel's mother Priscilla Mattarazzo and stepfather Joseph, said the jury spoke for the victims and that Entwistle will be judged again after spending his life in jail for "evil deeds."
Joseph Mattarazzo spoke briefly to thank the public and the prosecution team for their support.
Leone had high praise for his prosecution team led by Assistant DA Michael Fabbri.
"This was a focused and determined team that did not get distracted during this trial," Leone said. "What you saw was the best of public service."
